Will not contaminate precious metals.The shaft is steel, mounted into a hardwood handle secured by a steel pin so that after years of use around heat, there is no possibility that the handle will slip off. Moreover the shaft is heavier than others assuring a firm hold when transferring liquid metals. 19 1/4" long supplied with a 3" 7.5 ounce capacity crucible.
